A "woman", Dr. Charlottee Laws, in California decided to play copycat to those gays who put up an effigy to Sarah. Not as soon as they took their hate crime homage down, did she put another up (and it isn't as cute). She claims that she's a Republican, but she hates Sarah for her animal-hunting ways.

Whatever. I don't support animal cruelty, either, but I'm not hanging dummies from my house either. Bitch. To the prayer list you go.

Canada finds itself on the Prayer List again with the addition of two radio shock jocks known as the Masked Avengers. They prank called Sarah this weekend claiming to be French President, Nicolas Sarkosy. Disgusting.

Oh my God. Just when I thought Sarah Palin Hateration couldn't get any worse, it did. Some gays (not even worthy of a capital "G") in West Hollywood thought it was a good idea and well within their 1st amendment right to hang a Sarah Palin mannequin from a noose outside their house as part of a Halloween display.

Do they not know what a noose means in this country? The nasty history, the oppression and heartbreak that it caused thousands of people over decades?

So, it's not a hate crime, but it's damn close. And to think that these two men are themselves facing a hateful Prop 8 initiative in their own state...yet, they deem it appropriate and necessary to hang "someone" from a noose.

Let's get a couple things straight: 1) that lady, Amy Strozzi, works on "So You Think You Can Dance". That's like...huge. It's like "American Idol" but with dancing instead of singing.

I'm sorry, but since when did one's medical history become part of the electoral process? As a voter and citizen, I am entitled to question candidates on their resume and experience, how they approach problems and how the would handle certain situations of national concern. But I don't think it is any of my business the last time they had a check up, or the history of their immunizations.

I understand that Sarah is the only candidate yet to release her public records, but I don't think she should. We all know she is healthy and viable. But I honestly don't care about that. Or her wardrobe or home life. I care about where she stands on the issues. I think she is fabulous, but I don't need to know everything about her.

People are all in a tizzy because *gasp* Sarah actually speaks her mind and doesn't serve as John McCain's puppet. This time it's about The Gays. Now, I disagree with Sarah on this subject, but that's not the point right now. Sarah tolerates gay people. She just doesn't believe they should have the right to marry, therefore she supports a constitutional ban on gay marriage. Whereas, John McCain doesn't support a constitutional ban and thinks those decisions should be left up to individual states. Her gay friend(s) don't even care, so why does the media?

The point is that it's OK if she and McCain aren't on the same page. I'm sure there were times when Robin didn't agree with Batman and when Laverne didn't do the same as Shirley.

Differences are what makes us whole. Team Maverick balances each other out. Sarah is a born leader, so why wouldn't she speak her mind even it means disagreeing with McCain on gays, the environment, abortion, drilling in the ANWR, Pakistan and campaign strategy? US Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin has mistaken some of her own fans for hecklers at a rally. A massive crowd of at least 20,000 spread across the car park of Richmond International Raceway, Virginia, and scores of people on the outer periphery more than 100 metres from the stage could not hear her.

"Louder! Louder!" they chanted, and the cry spread across the crowd to Ms Palin's left. Some pointed skyward, urging that the volume be increased. Ms. Palin stopped speaking briefly and looked towards the commotion. "I hope those protesters have the courage and honour to give veterans thanks for their right to protest," she said.

Some in the crowd tried to shout to her about what was really being said, but she could not hear them. Some in the crowd had been standing for more than three hours on a sunny day without shade. At least 25 people collapsed from heat-related llnesses and three were admitted to hospital.

You get paid to write your opinions. Lucky you. Meanwhile Sarah is out governing an entire state and running for Vice President all while you tippity type type in your diary aka The New York Times.

In her latest bowel movement, Medusa criticizes Sarah's uncanny ability to keep it real. She jumps on this sentence diagramming bandwagon (who the fuck sits around diagramming sentences?) to say that no one can understand anything Sarah says. Um, the American people understand her. I think it is the out-of-touch liberal elites that don't get her. I'm sorry that your private school education doesn't help you see what Real Americans see: A Real American running for Vice President.

Since you're having such a hard time understanding Sarah, allow me to translate her eloquence into liberal jibber jabber.

Talking at the debate about how she would “positively affect the impacts”of the climate change for which she’s loath to acknowledge human culpability, she did a dizzying verbal loop-de-loop: “With the impacts of climate change, what we can
do about that, as governor, I was the first governor to form a climate change subcabinet to start dealing with the impacts.” That was, miraculously, richer with content than an answer she gave Katie Couric: “You know, there are man’s activities that can be contributed to the issues that we’re dealing with now, with these impacts.”

Translation:

"Blah blah blah blah big word global warming is bad. Boo hoo we should recycle more. Blah blah I just bought a Prius."

Mo says:

At another point, she channeled Alicia Silverstone debating in “Clueless,” asserting, “Nuclear weaponry, of course, would be the be-all, end-all of just too many people in too many parts of our planet.” (Mostly the end-all.)

A political jukebox, she drowned out Biden’s specifics, offering lifestyle as substance. “In the middle class of America, which is where Todd and I have been, you know, all our lives,” she said, making the middle class sound like it has its own ZIP code, superior to 90210 because “real” rules.

Translation:

"Hey you guys, weapons are bad - hugs are good. All wars should be solved by having dyads and sharing our feelings."

"Middle class is so dumb. Why don't they all stop praying to God and going to work and shopping at Wal-Mart. Instead they should all drink chai lattes and type on a laptop all day."

At a rare October rally in this solidly blue state, Sarah Palin alluded to her recent interview with CBS News’ Katie Couric, calling it “not too successful” and adding that Couric asked her questions that made her think, ‘C’mon, let’s start talking to the American people about the issues you guys want to know about.’”

Palin said that if she had her druthers, she would have rather told Couric about her plans for reform, putting government on the side of the people, and winning the wars. Then she promptly transitioned into attacking Barack Obama for his relationship with William Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground movement in the 1960s. Palin mentioned a story about the relationship that appeared in Saturday’s New York Times, which the Obama campaign says actually showed the relationship between Obama and Ayers added up to far less than a friendship.

“Our opponent is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who target their own country,” Palin said.

The Republican VP nominee also hit Obama for saying he’d cut taxes for 95 percent of Americans, calling the Democrat’s vow “the phoniest claim in a campaign that has been full of them.”

Palin regaled the cheering crowd with a story about how she was reading her Starbucks mocha cup yesterday, which featured a quotation from former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. “Now she said it, I didn’t,” Palin said of Albright. “She said, ‘There’s a place in Hell reserved for women who don’t support other women.’”

The crowd roared its approval, but according to several sources, Albright actually said, “there’s a place in Hell reserved for women who don’t help other women.”

“OK, now thank you so much for receiving that well—I didn’t know how that was going to go over,” Palin told the southern California crowd. “And now California, let’s see what a comment that I just made how that is turned into whatever it’ll be turned into tomorrow in the newspaper.”

So says the guru at Libertarians for Palin. He smartly articulates the awesome awesomeness that is Sarah Palin. Now, I don't know what debate all of Sarah's naysayers were watching, but the one I watched showed a immaculate, fierce Lady Diva Goddess at her prime. Let's analyze, shall we?

One word: Brilliant.

I could stop the post right there, but I will continue. First off, Joe Biden did well. He was on the brink of ripping off his designer suit and donning some Carharts for all the talk he did about his Scranton upbringing. But, he did good. He even pulled a New Hampshire moment and got all choked up about his kids. I mean...it was cute. Some people swear it is genuine, but I think all that rage he was keeping bottled up from Sarah was really the root of that. There were moments when he looked at her and I could see the wild, animal lust that he has for her. Too bad, he had to go home to Jill Biden that night. And could Jill have been more of an ice queen after the families were invited on stage? There was Gracious Sarah holding Trig Trig and Jill could barely stand next to her while her ~~grandpa~~ husband was fondly touching Piper by the shoulders. Then I see Jill dart off to who? The Todd! The Bidens need to deal with their adulterous desires, because Sarah and Todd are having none of that.

Sarah, forgive me, but your make-up person needs to be shot in the foot. That blush was heavy. You have cheekbones crafted by God and you don't need all that dark blush. And your lip color can go lighter by a shade or two. But, your eyes and teeth sparkled more brightly that Cindy's army mom bling. I knew you would do black and I gambled on hair half up, half down. I would have preferred all up, but whatever. You looked F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! Sexy chic power sassy. Drill, baby! That was all Miss Wasilla last night. With a wink and a shimmy, you could single-handly disarm entire enemy nations.

Gwen Ifill's jacker was cute. That's about it on her.

A lot of people are saying that the bar was set so low that Sarah could only exceed expectations last night. I couldn't disagree more. Sarah was FINALLY allowed to shine. She reached out to the Real American people and told them what they needed to hear. While Joe Biden sung Trig a lullaby with Obama's plans on fixing the economy, Sarah gave 'em the old razzle dazzle and left the specifics for those who were too nerdy to have a date for the prom.

You know, I think a good barometer here, as we try to figure out has this been a good time or a bad time in America's economy, is go to a kid's soccer game on Saturday, and turn to any parent there on the sideline and ask them, "How are you feeling about the economy?"

Um, Sarah is a hockey mom, yet she left her bias at the door and spoke to elitist soccer moms everywhere.

Moment 4: First "darn" and "heck" of the evening

PALIN: Darn right it was the predator lenders, who tried to talk Americans into thinking that it was smart to buy a $300,000 house if we could only afford a $100,000 house. There was deception there, and there was greed and there is corruption on Wall Street. And we need to stop that.

PALIN: One thing that Americans do at this time, also, though, is let's commit ourselves just every day American people, Joe Six Pack, hockey moms across the nation, I think we need to band together and say never again. Never will we be exploited and taken advantage of again by those who are managing our money and loaning us these dollars. We need to make sure that we demand from the federal government strict oversight of those entities in charge of our investments and our savings and we need also to not get ourselves in debt. Let's do what our parents told us before we probably even got that first credit card. Don't live outside of our means. We need to make sure that as individuals we're taking personal responsibility through all of this. It's not the American peoples fault that the economy is hurting like it is, but we have an opportunity to learn a heck of a lot of good lessons through this and say never again will we be taken advantage of.

Moment 5: Hey, Government! Get outta the way

Now you said recently that higher taxes or asking for higher taxes or paying higher taxes is patriotic. In the middle class of America which is where Todd and I have been all of our lives, that's not patriotic. Patriotic is saying, government, you know, you're not always the solution. In fact, too often you're the problem so, government, lessen the tax burden and on our families and get out of the way and let the private sector and our families grow and thrive and prosper.

Moment 6: Taking the steering wheel

I want to go back to the energy plan, though, because this is -- this is an important one that Barack Obama, he voted for in '05.

Screw Ifill, Sarah didn't want to talk about campaign promises and the bailout. So she took it back to energy. Drill, baby!

"And how long have I been at this, like five weeks?"

Moment 8: On bankruptcy: rebuttal

That is not so, but because that's just a quick answer, I want to talk about, again, my record on energy versus your ticket's energy ticket, also. I think that this is important to come back to, with that energy policy plan again that was voted for in '05.

Moment 9: Climate change and energy

And I don't want to argue about the causes. What I want to argue about is, how are we going to get there to positively affect the impacts? We have got to clean up this planet. We have got to encourage other nations also to come along with us with the impacts of climate change, what we can do about that.

Moment 10: Crystal-clear clarity on The Gays

But I also want to clarify, if there's any kind of suggestion at all from my answer that I would be anything but tolerant of adults in America choosing their partners, choosing relationships that they deem best for themselves, you know, I am tolerant and I have a very diverse family and group of friends and even within that group you would see some who may not agree with me on this issue, some very dear friends who don't agree with me on this issue.

But in that tolerance also, no one would ever propose, not in a McCain-Palin administration, to do anything to prohibit, say, visitations in a hospital or contracts being signed, negotiated between parties.

But I will tell Americans straight up that I don't support defining marriage as anything but between one man and one woman, and I think through nuances we can go round and round about what that actually means.

But I'm being as straight up with Americans as I can in my non- support for anything but a traditional definition of marriage.

Moment 10: Bipartisan Unity on Hating the Gays

Your question to him was whether he supported gay marriage and my answer is the same as his and it is that I do not.

Moment 11:

Your plan is a white flag of surrender in Iraq and that is not what our troops need to hear today, that's for sure. And it's not what our nation needs to be able to count on. You guys opposed the surge. The surge worked. Barack Obama still can't admit the surge works.

Moment 12: Kissinger and I are BFFs

No and Dr. Henry Kissinger especially. I had a good conversation with him recently. And he shared with me his passion for diplomacy.

Moment 13: Even though Jews don't love Jesus, Sarah still cares about them

Israel is our strongest and best ally in the Middle East. We have got to assure them that we will never allow a second Holocaust, despite, again, warnings from Iran and any other country that would seek to destroy Israel, that that is what they would like to see.

We will support Israel. A two-state solution, building our embassy, also, in Jerusalem, those things that we look forward to being able to accomplish, with this peace-seeking nation, and they have a track record of being able to forge these peace agreements.

Moment 14: Agreeing on Jew-love, calling out the Blame Game, knowing when to hold 'em and fold 'em

But I'm so encouraged to know that we both love Israel, and I think that is a good thing to get to agree on, Sen. Biden. I respect your position on that.

No, in fact, when we talk about the Bush administration, there's a time, too, when Americans are going to say, "Enough is enough with your ticket," on constantly looking backwards, and pointing fingers, and doing the blame game.

There have been huge blunders in the war. There have been huge blunders throughout this administration, as there are with every administration.

But for a ticket that wants to talk about change and looking into the future, there's just too much finger-pointing backwards to ever make us believe that that's where you're going.

Moment 15:

Oh, yeah, it's so obvious I'm a Washington outsider. And someone just not used to the way you guys operate. Because here you voted for the war and now you oppose the war. You're one who says, as so many politicians do, I was for it before I was against it or vice- versa. Americans are craving that straight talk and just want to know, hey, if you voted for it, tell us why you voted for it and it was a war resolution.

Moment 16: We don't agree on everything and he dies, what is your point?

As for disagreeing with John McCain and how our administration would work, what do you expect? A team of mavericks, of course we're not going to agree on 100 percent of everything. As we discuss ANWR there, at least we can agree to disagree on that one. I will keep pushing him on ANWR. I have so appreciated he has never asked me to check my opinions at the door and he wants a deliberative debate and healthy debate so we can make good policy.

What I would do also, if that were to ever happen, though, is to continue the good work he is so committed to of putting government back on the side of the people and get rid of the greed and corruption on Wall Street and in Washington.

I think we need a little bit of reality from Wasilla Main Street there, brought to Washington, D.C.

Moment 17: Say it ain't so, Joe! and a coupla shout outs

Say it ain't so, Joe, there you go again pointing backwards again. You preferenced your whole comment with the Bush administration. Now doggone it, let's look ahead and tell Americans what we have to plan to do for them in the future. You mentioned education and I'm glad you did. I know education you are passionate about with your wife being a teacher for 30 years, and god bless her. Her reward is in heaven, right? I say, too, with education, America needs to be putting a lot more focus on that and our schools have got to be really ramped up in terms of the funding that they are deserving. Teachers needed to be paid more. I come from a house full of school teachers. My grandma was, my dad who is in the audience today, he's a schoolteacher, had been for many years. My brother, who I think is the best schoolteacher in the year, and here's a shout-out to all those third graders at Gladys Wood Elementary School, you get extra credit for watching the debate.

Moment 18:

In my comment there, it was a lame attempt at a joke and yours was a lame attempt at a joke, too, I guess, because nobody got it. Of course we know what a vice president does.

Moment 19: What achilles heel? Let's talk about how awesome John is.

People aren't looking for more of the same. They are looking for change. And John McCain has been the consummate maverick in the Senate over all these years.

He's taken shots left and right from the other party and from within his own party, because he's had to take on his own party when the time was right, when he recognized it was time to put partisanship aside and just do what was right for the American people.

That's what I've done as governor, also, take on my own party, when I had to, and work with both sides of the aisle, in my cabinet, appointing those who would serve regardless of party, Democrats, independents, Republicans, whatever it took to get the job done.

Also, John McCain's maverick position that he's in, that's really prompt up to and indicated by the supporters that he has. Look at Lieberman, and Giuliani, and Romney, and Lingle, and all of us who come from such a diverse background of -- of policy and of partisanship, all coming together at this time, recognizing he is the man that we need to leave -- lead in these next four years, because these are tumultuous times.

We have got to win the wars. We have got to get our economy back on track. We have got to not allow the greed and corruption on Wall Street anymore.

And we have not got to allow the partisanship that has really been entrenched in Washington, D.C., no matter who's been in charge. When the Republicans were in charge, I didn't see a lot of progress there, either. When the Democrats, either, though, this last go- around for the last two years.

Change is coming. And John McCain is the leader of that reform.

There have been times where, as mayor and governor, we have passed budgets that I did not veto and that I think could be considered as something that I quasi-caved in, if you will, but knowing that it was the right thing to do in order to progress the agenda for that year and to work with the legislative body, that body that actually holds the purse strings....

You do what I did as governor, and you appoint people regardless of party affiliation, Democrats, independents, Republicans. You -- you walk the walk; you don't just talk the talk.

And even in my own family, it's a very diverse family. And we have folks of all political persuasion in there, also, so I've grown up just knowing that, you know, at the end of the day, as long as we're all working together for the greater good, it's going to be OK.

I've been there. I know what the hurts are. I know what the challenges are. And, thank God, I know what the joys are, too, of living in America. We are so blessed. And I've always been proud to be an American. And so has John McCain.

We have to fight for our freedoms, also, economic and our national security freedoms.
It was Ronald Reagan who said that freedom is always just one generation away from extinction. We don't pass it to our children in the bloodstream; we have to fight for it and protect it, and then hand it to them so that they shall do the same, or we're going to find ourselves spending our sunset years telling our children and our children's children about a time in America, back in the day, when men and women were free.

We will fight for it, and there is only one man in this race who has really ever fought for you, and that's Sen. John McCain.

Fashion rocks: Sarah's style is subtle, yet striking

Nothing gets me more excited about the Grace & Glory than talking about her fashion. It is sheer perfection. Now, I'm actually having oodles of fun with all the women headlining this election, but there is something about Sarah's sassy sets that stands out from the rest. This columnist below eloquently points on the strengths (weaknesses?) of Sarah's wardrobe. My comments in bold blue.

Commentary: Palin's subtle attire speaks volumes

Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin's style is exceptionally ordinary. Nothing about it connotes authority. No detail announces that she is in charge. And that's what makes it so powerful. um, duh..though I don't think her style is exceptionally ordinary.

The rimless glasses that dominate her face are as banal as modern spectacles come. The entire goal of their design is to have them go unnoticed. They are not meant to frame her features as much as they are crafted to avoid detracting from her big brown eyes. they glasses are hot because they are so sleek...almost futuristic even.

Her clothes are unpretentious, but they are also unremarkable. They have nothing to do with fashion. It's fashion show season now, with designers unveiling their spring 2009 collections in New York, Milan and Paris. So far, none of them have suggested that the next new thing for the power-wielding woman is a straight black skirt with a boxy, oyster-colored blazer, which is what Palin wore when she accepted the vice-presidential nomination in St. Paul, Minn. I think that is what makes SP so great is that she goes her own way and doesn't rely on trends and facts and stuff to do her own thing. Again, how many REAL Americans do you know pay attention to NYC Fashion Week?

In the narrow confines of political style, the accepted rule is to dress in a manner that implies empathy for one's constituency — so don't wear anything too expensive — but also conveys authority. Palin has embraced the former and utterly ignored the latter. Nothing about her style jibes with the image of power. She does not dress like a boss lady, an Iron Lady or the devil who wore Prada. What exactly does power look like? Power can be found in a pair of jeans or a robe...just ask Jesus about that one.

Her clothes don't have the aura of sophistication like that of Michelle Obama's sheaths and pearls. They do not have a patina of glamour like Cindy McCain's heiress wardrobe. And they do not announce themselves with the confidence, assertiveness and listen-to-me-ness of Sen. Hillary Clinton's bold pantsuits. Palin's clothes are common. Everyone knows someone who dresses like her, which is partly why so many folks seem to think that they know her.
Palin likes to wear a super-size Old Glory brooch that shouts with as much patriotic bravado as one of those monster flags that wave from a car dealership. Her flag was on display during a campaign stop in Grand Rapids, Mich. And for the record, it has no kin among the statement jewelry currently being championed on the runway. Who cares about the runway? Old Glory doesn't need approval from the liberal, fashion elite. And what is so outstanding about Michelle's fashion (and I love it) when she gets her clothes from the Gap, Old Navy, White House/Black Market, H&M, etc.? Hillary's pantsuits? Nothing to write home about, but they look good on her. Cindy? I haven't found much that I like on her and her shit costs the most. So exactly doesn't SP measure up in her sexy pencil skirts, bold colors and sassy shoes?

The ruby slippers she wore on the campaign trail, the ones she paired with the black jacket and skirt that pulled just so across her hips, churn up images of another small-town girl who'd suddenly landed in Oz. A peep-toe pump is coy — coquettish even. But not an emblem of gravitas. And those same shoes are on back order in every store and on every website that carries them.

Despite what every optometrist with a publicity agent has to say, there is nothing remotely striking about her eyeglasses. It's only notable in an age of contact lenses and Lasik surgery that anyone in the public spotlight regularly wears them at all — except, perhaps, when they're trying to make a point, such as when television interviewers keep a pair of reading glasses perched on the tip of their nose in a way that makes them look like professors skeptical of a student's ability to withstand their Socratic interrogation.

Palin is the girl next door. And yes, much about her attire emphasizes youthfulness, most distinctly her hair.

The hair, which has been highlighted, teased and scrunched, is a standard-issue, mommy-is-in-a-rush style. Since motherhood has been laid out by her campaign like one of the pillars of national service, the mop-top hairdo is practically a battle scar. Her hair is signature and classic. It's lush and full and I'm sure The Todd enjoys burying his nose in it.

Executive women tend to avoid wearing their hair in ponytails or looking like they have it tacked to the top of their head with a chip clip. Like a good female news anchor, they get themselves a haircut that falls no further than the shoulders, is feminine and easy to maintain. They do not want to be wind-blown and tousled when they walk into a boardroom. Hair shouldn't be a distraction. is Sarah's hair a distraction, or her awesome wildnerness beauty?

Palin doesn't have Maria Menounos's Pantene hair. But it is chestnut brown and long and is the antithesis of what most women do with it as they come into their own. Hello, Maverick!

Palin has been referred to as America's hottest governor by sources as varied as Alaska Magazine and button-wearing Republican conventioneers. But Palin's power isn't in her physical looks as much as in the packaging.

Palin seems to dress for pretty rather than powerful. She is willing to be sexual, with the occasional fitted jacket and high heels. She wears dangly earrings.

She talks tough. She doesn't blink. She speaks of "guys and gals." What is a gal? One thinks of a waitress in a bar who knows that if she pretends she doesn't notice when a guy's ogling her legs and gives as good as she gets when it comes to off-color jokes, life will go along more smoothly. She's not one of the guys, but she doesn't confront them with either a lawyer or rhetoric from a women's studies seminar.

Palin's style serves as evidence that a woman can step onto the national political stage without having to manipulate her wardrobe into some torturous costume calibrated to make her look authoritative but not threatening, feminine but not sexy. Palin proves that a woman can wear red patent-leather shoes and still take questions on foreign policy and the economy. Damn right. Her style is uniquely her own and she wears what looks good. I have so many favorites, but I'm still in love with the pink and gray she wore for Couric's interview. I can't wait to see what she wears tonight at the debate!

In another attempt to twist the flawless image of Sarah Louise, the like, four Black people who live Alaska are accusing her of saying she wouldn't hire Black people. They claim in a meeting she had in the Governor's office that she said she didn't have to hire Black people and that she didn't intend to.

On April 29, 14 black leaders in Alaska, including prominent ministers, NAACP officials, and community activists, met with Palin to voice their complaint over
minority hiring and job opportunities. During the meeting she allegedly said that she didn't have to hire any blacks. Even more damning, she purportedly said that she didn't intend to hire any.

Wow and I thought Governor David Paterson was the only crazy Black accusing Sarah of racism. How can she be racist? The Todd is part Eskimo or some shit and her hairdresser is gay. Yeah, nice try. Like learning about other countries, or boring policy matters, Sarah does not have time to be racist. She just doesn't have the inclination to hate people based on skin color. Let's just start off with the obvious: Sarah looked fabulous in her interview with Katie Couric. Fabulous. Now, I'm not mad at Katie for asking retarded questions during the interview. To be honest, I'm getting nervous.

Reading the transcript, then watching the interview made me begin to question Sarah. Then, I realized it's not her, it's the people preparing her for these interviews. They should all be fired. She keeps coming off as rehearsed versus prepared and I know Sarah can do better than that. She is more than a soundbite machine. And I know it's hard to be in a situation where you know you're prettier and smarter than the person you're talking to, but you have to be nice to them anyway.

This interview also got me thinking about why people aren't hitting Joe "Talk First Think Second" Biden these same hardball questions. What gives? Why isn't The Todd out and about a la Jill Biden to support his wife's candidacy?

In short: why is everyone against Sarah all of a sudden? Why all the hateration? Stop asking her why she thinks she is ready to be veep - accept that she just knows that she is, dammit. Stop bringing up that Russia comment. Stop asking her about the shit that honestly most veeps don't fucking deal with. How many people have asked her about domestic issues? What she thinks about education? Healthcare? Shit like that? Why are we asking her about what John thinks about the economy? She doesn't know, go ask him!

I think Sarah's best response in the whole interview was this:

Couric: In preparing for this conversation, a lot of our viewers … and Internet users wanted to know why you did not get a passport until last year. And they wondered if that indicated a lack of interest and curiosity in the world.

Palin: I'm not one of those who maybe came from a background of, you know, kids who perhaps graduate college and their parents give them a passport and give them a backpack and say go off and travel the world. No, I've worked all my life. In fact, I usually had two jobs all my life until I had kids. I was not a part of, I guess, that culture. The way that I have understood the world is through education, through books, through mediums that have provided me a lot of perspective on the world.

Bamn! Way to call out those classist, wine sipping bastards, Sarah! This is what most Americans would say, too. MOST Real Americans also don't gallavant around the world. We learn about shit watching PBS and reading old National Geographics from church rummage sales. Sarah once again reflects how Real Americans live their lives. Why would the Governor of Alaska go all over the world when her job is leading her state? If she spent all her time travelling internationally, the people would attack her for ignoring home. Remember the Mccain motto: "Country First". That is what Sarah has done all her life.

I just want Sarah to be interviewed by someone not trying to earn more publicity for their station, one that won't be condescending and leading. Asked if she thought Palin had sufficient foreign policy experience, the first lady said: "Of course she doesn't have that. You know, that's not been her role, but I think she is a very quick study, and fortunately John McCain does have that sort of experience."

Um. Why are people even addressing her and talking to her about things she doesn't understand? You want to ask her about her slutty daughters, children's books or being married to a monkey? Fine. Putting all doubts about her foreign policy experience to rest, Sarah Louise met with Afghan President Hamid Karzai today. There was some drama as nosey reporters felt entitled to sit in on the meeting. None of your beeswax, MSM! Pictures and video ONLY.

After some back and forth with the subject some pool reporters were allowed to smell the Essence of Sarah before the private meeting began. Here is what was captured before her and Karzai got down to brass tacks:

An exchange clearly heard above the clicking of cameras involved Karzai's son, born in January 2007.
"What is his name?" Palin asked.
"Mirwais," Karzai responded. "Mirwais, which means, 'The Light of the House.'"
"Oh, nice," Palin said.
"He is the only one we have," Karzai said.

Was that some sort of snub towards, Sarah, Mister Karzai? What do you mean "he is the only one we have"? Of course most people feel inadequate when first meeting Sarah, so I can understand if the context of that statement meant "My wife is not as fertile as you,". Personally, I thought all men from his country had a shitload of children. Guess I was wrong.

Notice that Sarah doesn't openly mock his child's weird name. She diplomatically says "Oh, nice," which shows you how merciful and gracious she is. Can you imagine if that was Laura Bush sitting there when he said that??

There is word Sarah Palin will grace the presence of pop musician Bono in the coming days. She will be able to enlighten him on ways to use his fame to advance missions of peace and AIDS awareness. I'm guessing he will also be presenting her with framed lyrics of the song he wrote about her.

Feminists convey a notion of entitlement, as though they deserve special privileges today because of wrongs in past years that no one any longer can remember, such as women not having the right to vote. The bad attitude of victimhood is indoctrinated in students by the bitter feminist faculty in university women's studies courses and even in some law schools. Victimhood is nurtured and exaggerated by feminist organizations using their tactic called "consciousness raising," i.e., retelling horror stories about how badly some women have been treated until small personal annoyances grow into societal grievances. The feminists resent Sarah because she's the exact opposite of Hillary Clinton. When the liberal media sharpened their knives against Sarah, some chivalrous McCainiacs cried foul about media unfairness, but we didn't hear any whining from Sarah. Sarah has been successful because of hard work and perseverance, not because she's a woman, and she's not going to pull any crybaby act now. Sarah didn't need any Equal Rights Amendment, which Hillary is still promoting even though it was declared dead by the Supreme Court 26 years ago.

Exactly. Sarah has transcended her gender and succeeded. Sarah didn't need a small town to be a big fish, she could have been elected Mayor of New York City for chrissakes. And, Phyllis is right: all those horror stories of slavery, back alley abortions, the denial of voting rights and rampant acceptance of domestic abuse - while important parts of HISTORY - just aren't that bad today. At least not for me. I believe Phyllis when she says this because she was like, totally alive when women finally got the right to vote.

I shouldn't have to spell out to non-Palinites why I love Sarah Palin so much. However, every day I read vicious, dirty attacks on Her Greatness and it breaks my heart that the country has stooped to such dastardly levels. Nevertheless, I find small slivers of light that shine through the Dusty Window of Injustuce Towards Sarah.

In this article by the WaPo, the things that I admire most about Sarah are center stage.

It was three days before the legislature was to go home, and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was frustrated. The state Senate was thwarting a reduction she wanted in the fee for business licenses. So the governor's aides culled records at the state Department of Commerce for the e-mail addresses of nearly 23,000 Alaskan business owners.

Using the addresses, Palin sent a mass "special message" with her official portrait, the state seal and a backdrop of snow-rimmed mountains. "I urge you to contact your senator TODAY," she wrote, enclosing the phone number of every member of the state Senate.

Lawmakers and other critics were livid. The governor, they complained, had misused state records, violating people's privacy and flouting an ethics rule that forbids Alaska's state employees to use information to which they have access for personal or political benefit. Palin insisted she had done nothing wrong. And the legislature reduced the fee.
In response to complaints about her e-mails to business owners, Palin insisted that the Commerce Department records are public. "You just pick up the phone and ask," she told a news conference the day after this year's legislative session ended.

The result: license fees reduced by 50%. Sarah circumvented bureaucratic barriers and stood up for the Little Guy. And it worked. It's a style of governing called Getting Shit Done. I would argue that if more executives ran their states in this matter, the country would be an entirely different place. Another example of Getting Shit Done methodology:

A typical dispute occurred in January when Palin asked to deliver her State of the State address on the legislative session's opening day at 6 p.m., an hour earlier than the custom, because she had to catch a flight to attend the graduation of her eldest child, Track, from boot camp. When Green, the state Senate president, said the request would conflict with the chamber's schedule, the governor's office threatened that she might deliver her speech only to the House.

In the end, the legislature and the governor agreed on a 4 p.m. start for her 25-minute remarks. Still, Palin called a local radio show to express her displeasure. The
host, Bob Lester, sided with her. He twice said that Green, a survivor of breast cancer, was "a cancer" on Alaska's progress, and he called her a bitch. On an audiotape of the show, Palin is heard giggling at the expletive.

So what? She has a sense of humor. These people were being assholes: her son was graduating from boot camp for chrissakes. Renew your minds, people.

Bipartisan chorus of exultation:

"She has an incredible pulse on the public will," said Bruce Botelho, a Democrat who is mayor of Juneau, the state capital.

"She tends to . . . create a situation where legislators are cornered -- going against her would be political suicide," said John Bitney, who grew up with Palin, was her campaign policy director and became her first legislative liaison.

Yet Palin has been less ideologically pure than the public image she has cultivated. An avowed fiscal conservative, she has increased state spending by about one-fifth since taking office. An ardent opponent of abortion, she did not fight for measures requiring parental consent and banning the procedure opponents call "partial birth" abortion -- bills the legislature ultimately defeated.

Sarah doesn't have time for bullshit pomp and circumstance. She's an avid multi-tasker:

Still, Palin struck some lawmakers as curiously detached from the process. In early March 2007, she invited the state Senate's leaders to her office for a preview of the pipeline legislation. To the astonishment of the five senators and their aides, she barely said a word for the hour. As staff members explained her signature plan, the governor was preoccupied with her two BlackBerries. "It was so bizarre. We all talked about it afterwards," said a legislative source, one of three participants in the meeting who recounted the governor's silence. "We all said, 'What was that? Was she even paying attention?'"

Haycox summed up a common criticism of Palin: "She seems as if she is incurious about the mechanism of government."

Haycox: ever heard the term "curiousity killed the cat? Yeah. Sarah doesn't need to be involved. She thought it up and has the right people on the execution end. There is nothing wrong being The Idea Person. Also, it's totally OK for politicans to shut the fuck up every once in awhile. Sarah didn't need to dominate the conversation just because she's the Governor. She's humble like that.

Furthermore, Sarah is not big into personal allegiances. Take this example:

Shortly after Palin took office, state senators were in an eight-hour ethics seminar when the new governor called an 11 a.m. news conference to unveil her ethics bill, borrowing from ideas Democrats had advocated for years, recalled Senate President Lyda Green (R), who represents Palin's home town and quickly became a nemesis. With the senators tied up in their training, the only people who stood with Palin before the cameras were a former Republican U.S. attorney and a former Democratic lawmaker. The news conference foreshadowed a pattern: Time after time, Palin's pursuit of her goals would trump her allegiances.

She's goal-oriented. What is so wrong with that? She's here to serve the people, not the Senate that represents the people. She's also outspoken. Apparently people have a problem with this since she has a vagina.

Last month, just before a vote on a ballot initiative to strengthen environmental restrictions on the proposed Pebble Mine -- an enormous project critics say would damage salmon-rich Bristol Bay -- she broke with a long tradition in which Alaska governors have not taken public positions on such citizen initiatives and announced that she opposed it. I like Jennifer Granholm. She's ~~pretty and smart~~ smart and pretty. And she's real enough to know when there is another woman leader out there better than her. And that woman is Sarah Palin. It goes without saying that Alaska is by far, a better state than Michigan and it's harder to govern than Michigan so of course Sarah has more experience than Granholm despite being a governor for a less amount of time. Nevertheless, Jennifer publicly heaps praise on SP:

Gov. Jennifer Granholm has met Sarah Palin several times and says the Alaska governor seems like a very nice woman.

"She wouldn't ask to be treated with kid gloves. This is the vice presidency," Granholm told reporters Thursday. "She's tough. She's made that very clear."

Jennifer goes on to admit that she isn't ready to lead like Sarah:

"I'd be the first to say — and I've been governor for six years — that I do not have international relations experience," Granholm said. "The question for the American people to decide is whether you want a vice president who's a heart beat away to have no international relations experience."

But that is where she stops on my good list. Unfortunately, Governor Granholm will be slapping the women of America in the face by helping Sarah's opponent, Joe Biden, prepare for his debate with Sarah.

The Democratic governor will be Palin's stand-in as Biden prepares for the Washington University debate in St. Louis. She said being the only female governor besides Palin with children at home may give her "a perspective that allows me to step into those shoes a little more easily."

Thankfully, Michigan Republican Chair calls Jennifer out on her hypocrisy:

Michigan Republican Chairman Saul Anuzis said Granholm is a good debater, but called it "ironic" that the Michigan governor will be pretending to be Palin.

"Granholm will be playing the role of a governor who actually cut taxes, created jobs and reformed government," Anuzis said. "It's a far cry from the role that she's played over the last seven years."

Such beauty is the symmetry and parallel of the McCain-Palin ticket. They are so in tune with each other, that Sarah doesn't need to agree publicly with John on major issues. Like a husband and wife they "agree to disagree" on things. More proof that these two mavericks go against the grain.

Sarah performed beautifully in the Charlie Gibson interview. I hate Gibson. I don't even like ABC. His malice was so apparent, however, Sarah managed to keep her obvious disgust for the media at bay while she addressed hard-hitting questions about energy, foreign matters and things John McCain should really be concerned about. Notice her conversational use of "Charlie" and "gonna". That shows the folksy appeal that other candidates completely lack.

When asked if Georgia joined NATO, whether the United States should go to war if the country was again invaded by Russia, Palin responded: "Perhaps so. I mean, that is the agreement when you are a NATO ally, is if another country is attacked, you're going to be expected to be called upon and help."

"And we've got to keep an eye on Russia. For Russia to have exerted such pressure in terms of invading a smaller democratic country, unprovoked, is unacceptable," she said.

YES. Keeping an eye on Russia is the most sane and logical diplomatic plan I have heard so far. And it's something we can all do. It's like a global neighborhood watch in which all Americans are taking a bite out of crime. On to energy and war:

"Let me speak specifically about a credential that I do bring to this table, Charlie, and that's with the energy independence that I've been working on for these years as the governor of this state that produces nearly 20 percent of the U.S. domestic supply of energy, that I worked on as chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, overseeing the oil and gas development in our state to produce more for the United States... but I want you to not lose sight of the fact that energy is a foundation of national security. It's that important. It's that significant," she said.

I want these Palin haters to tell how drilling in the ANWR won't solve our dependence on foreign oil. Tell me. Sarah makes a clear connection between the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission and Iraq. Nail? Meet Head. Bamn. On Jews and WMDS:

"Well, first, we are friends with Israel and I don't think that we should second-guess the measures that Israel has to take to defend themselves and for their security."
Iran, she said, presented a threat not only to Israel but to "everyone in the world."

"We have got to make sure that these weapons of mass destruction, that nuclear weapons are not given to those hands of [Iranian President Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad, not that he would use them, but that he would allow terrorists to be able to use them," she said.

Ever the maverick, Palin shows us that weapons of mass destruction DO exist throwing the middle finger to "experts" who claim to have found none. AND ever the tolerant Christian, she supports Isreal despite the fact that it was responsible for her Lord & Savior's death. On the Bush Doctrine:

Though seemingly flummoxed by the term, Palin agreed in principle to the "Bush doctrine," or the idea that the United States has the right to preemptively strike another country before first being attacked.

"Charlie, if there is legitimate and enough intelligence that tells us that a strike is imminent against American people, we have every right to defend our country. In fact, the president has the obligation, the duty to defend.

Who knows better than Sarah about defend one's own? Legitimate intelligence in this case is valid, whereas legitimate intelligence regarding WMDs is irrelevant mostly because it was done by Europeans. Sarah is a complex rationalizer - it takes a B.A. from the University of Idaho to achieve this level of thinking.

Is she soft on war? "Hell" no:

"I believe that America has to exercise all options in order to stop the terrorists who are hell bent on destroying America and our allies. We have got to have all options out there on the table."

See: she is pro-choice. She advocates exercising all options when it comes to war. On God and war:

"I would never presume to know God's will or to speak God's words. But what Abraham Lincoln had said, and that's a repeat in my comments, was let us not pray that God is on our side in a war or any other time, but let us pray that we are on God's side."

When asked if she believed she was "sending [her] son on a task that is from God," Palin said: "I don't know if the task is from God, Charlie. What I know is that my son has made a decision. I am so proud of his independent and strong decision he has made, what he decided to do and serving for the right reasons and serving something greater than himself and not choosing a real easy path where he could be more comfortable and certainly safer."

Like choosing to be an organizer rather than support the country in real service. Exactly. Like Bristol, Trak has made his own decision about his own life and Sarah had nothing to do with it.

On humans and climate change:

"I believe that man's activities certainly can be contributing to the issue of global warming, climate change. Here in Alaska, the only arctic state in our Union, of course, we see the effects of climate change more so than any other area with ice pack melting. Regardless though of the reason for climate change, whether it's entirely, wholly caused by man's activities or is part of the cyclical nature of our planet -- the warming and the cooling trends -- regardless of that, John McCain and I agree that we gotta do something about it and we have to make sure that we're doing all we can to cut down on pollution."

Initially, I too was concerned that Sarah denied man's involvement in climate change. Now that she has clarified her position, I realize that her reversal of thought really demonstrates her ability to be flexible.

I think she did a great job and this interview does nothing but reassure me that she is indeed the right person to be running with John McCain. I think she represents the Republican line of thinking very well.

Prominent Women's Activist Arrested for Aggravated Assault

What was supposed to be a regular meeting of women's rights activists at a local YMCA turned into a bloody stage of violence when a meeting participant attacked another woman while she was speaking.

Witnesses describe seeing Jane Smith, 49, of Cleveland Heights leap from her seat onto the back of the unidentified victim. Witnesses say the woman was speaking about a petition from the group Women Say No to Palin, encouraging women to sign on. The victim was reading from a laundry list of reasons as to why vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is not qualified to serve.

"I just....I just couldn't stand it anymore," says Ms. Smith when questioned by authorities. She claims blind fury led her to attack the victim. "I don't know what came over me. I'm just so tired of people attacking this woman. She is a mother. She has worked hard to get to where she is. I resent these feminist hacks claiming that her selection by John McCain was affirmative action and an insult to women everywhere. Where do they get these ideas?"

Ms. Smith is currently being held at a local mental facility under police supervision. Police officers arrived on the scene to find Ms. Smith rocking back and forth in the corner of the multi-purpose room where the attack occurred muttering about moose burgers. The victim was being assisted by other women in the room.

"In my twelve years on the force I have never seen anything like it. I mean...it's as if the woman was attacked by a dog or something. The stench of blood and patchouli was almost overwhelming. Luckily EMS arrived on the scene pretty quickly," reports Officer Wayne Robert who was first to arrive at the scene.

The second officer, Doug White, attended to Ms. Smith. "When I saw her in the corner, I didn't know what to make of her. She was wearing this flowing skirt, like something she made herself and she had some sort of t-shirt on that said something about war not being pro-life. I instantly called a social worker because I knew she was crazy and not your average criminal. They don't prepare you for this at the academy."

Kathy Blake, the social worker handling the case shared some insight. "This woman is a victim as well. She is suffering from a relatively new condition that is dubbed the Palin Effect. It's a syndrome really. Cases have been popping up all over the country. Normally progressive minded women find themselves losing insight and reason. They fail to understand facts and reality. I have read reports of women lashing out Obama rallies and staff meetings. In Ann Arbor, Michigan, a community organizer was attacked by a woman who tried to run him over with her Prius."

There isn't much to learn from the medical community about this condition. Sources say that the Palin Effect is very new, but spreading rapidly and affecting only women who are registered as independent or democrat with their local board of elections. Republican women are somehow immune to the Palin Effect. "The symptoms that are caused by the Palin Effect are actually normal functions in women who married to or registered as Republicans," says Ms. Blake.

Women are encouraged to read daily to prevent loss of fact-based understanding. Authorities are encouraging people to delete any chain emails on site. Other precautions include:

Read articles daily from credible newspapers and magazines
Maintain contact with progressive minded friends
Avoid babies and children
Stay away from hunting stores
Abstain from meat
Avoid CNN, MSNBC and Fox News

A long time friend and colleague from the Sappho Art Center, where Smith has worked for eight years, spoke on the condition of anonymity about Smith: "Jane has been a pillar in the women's community for years. She has been president of the local Code Pink chapter, she started the Women Vegans for Choice group. She rescues cats. She has a full life. I can't believe this is happening to her and my heart goes out to the victim as well. I also want to invite people to a speak out at the Sappho Art Center to dialogue about this Palin Effect that is plaguing our community. Refreshments will be served and there will be a drum circle immediately following."

The Sappho Art Center will also be selling kosher-certified nag champa incense and vegan rice crispie treats. Proceeds will go to the victim's medical fund.

For Jane Smith, the road to recovery may be a long one. Once released, she will be formally charged. The victim is safely recuperating with family.

The kind people all over America can relate to.

A mom who joined the PTA to make the public schools better.

A mom who is sending her own son off to war. (How many governors, senators and Congress members have sent theirs?)

A mom who asked if we knew the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull, then pointed to her face and said, "Lipstick."

A mom who married a fisherman/oil field worker who never finished college and looks clumsy in a suit.

A mom raising a flawed family, the kind we all have.

Women can relate to her. I know I can. It doesn't mean I'll vote for her, but I'm excited that she's one of our choices.

Like it or not, Palin proves there's more than one kind of feminist. That you don't have to be pro-choice to fit under that umbrella. That women can break ground for other women and still believe life starts at conception and is always a gift.

Those who criticize Palin for putting country first and family second should consider this: Men do it all the time, only when they do it, we call them heroes.

Camille Paglia: Feminists who hate Sarah Palin are like buckets of spit

Camille Paglia shines a light on the dark legions of angry anti-Sarah "feminists" everywhere who express disgust over the great philosophies of SP. This Italian/lesbian/atheist who supports porn, homosexuality and fetishism heaps praise and exultation on Saracuda.

These women almost don't deserve their own vaginas. Of course, Sarah uses her to its fullest extent and has five children to prove it. No need to ask The Todd about it. I'm a progressive, feminist woman and I wholeheartedly defend her right to chose family, God, heterosexuality and hunting instead of using birth control, not getting married, going vegan or being Jewish. That's her right as a woman. Who said she was going to make other women do the same thing?

Yes, women who whine about things like the state owning their uteruses, blaming rape victims for their assaults, demanding equal pay for equal work (is it always about money with these women?!?!?!) and expecting to be treated the same as men is pathetic. George W. Bush is a man, but he's no maverick. I want to be treated the same as mavericks, not men. That's the sort of feminism that I can get behind. Sarah Palin needs none of this special attention. She gets the job done without being bogged down with concern for the inequitable treatment other woman receive because they're weaker than her.

Bravely confronting facts and personal accounts to the contrary:

"But what of Palin's pro-life stand? Creationism taught in schools? Book banning? Gay conversions? The Iraq war as God's plan? Zionism as a prelude to the apocalypse? We'll see how these big issues shake out. Right now, I don't believe much of what I read or hear about Palin in the media."

Issues, smishissues. Facts, schmacts. Alleviating pro-choice fears:

President Palin. Whoa! I just said that out loud as I read it. So what if Matt "Hollywood Hero" Damon is worried, Camille "Educated at Yale" Paglia is not. Neither am I. Everyone knows that politics has NOTHING to do with the Supreme Court. I mean, I don't agree with Sarah's personal beliefs, but they are just that: personal. It would different if she tried to pass laws that prohibited abortion, but we're talking about appointing some judges. The worst the Supreme Court can do is hand another election to the Republican Party or deny women the right to pursue fair pay from their employers, which they already did and I don't think they'd do twice. That had nothing to do with Sarah, just the political party she is affiliated with.

Cintra Wilson: angry, jealous lady with handbag

I don't know who this Cintra Wilson woman is, but from this picture, I gather she is some sort of Male to Female Transgender Author who brings shame to American Womanhood by bashing the bastion of Vaginal Femininity that is Sarah Palin.

I grew dizzy with rage after reading this excerpt from Wilson's column:

"Sarah Palin and her virtual burqa have me and my friends retching into our handbags. She's such a power-mad, backwater beauty-pageant casualty, it's easy to write her off and make fun of her. But in reality I feel as horrified as a ghetto Jew watching the rise of National Socialism.

She is dangerous. She is not just pro-life, she's anti-life. She is the suppression of human feeling and instinct. She is a slave to the compromises dictated by her own desire for power and control. Sarah Palin is untethered from her own needs and those of her family, which is in crisis, with a pregnant daughter, a son on the way to Iraq and a special-needs infant."

Here's what I gleamed from the above excerpt:

You hate special needs children and you think they should be aborted.

You think her son should die in the Iraq war.

You're xenophobic because you hate Muslim women who wear burquas.

You carry something called a "handbag". My grandmother carried those when she was your age.

You think all teen mothers are whores.

You hate women who show ambition.

You hate Jews and think Socialism is a good idea.

Instead of looking at what makes SP so awesome, you try to point out "flaws" in her policies, values and experience. THAT, Miss Wilson, is not the issue here. Sarah may be anti-choice, but YOU are anti-woman. Yes, I know she is pro-life and against abortion even in cases of rape and incest, but what does that have to do with her serving as Vice President? Quite frankly, I'm concerned about what organizations like Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America are going to do when she doesn't become VOTUS. They won't have anything to do because Senators Obama and Biden will protect a woman's right to choose. That will put thousands of people out of jobs. By becoming VOTUS, Sarah Palin is ensuring the employment of thousands of back alley abortion providers, lawyers, community organizers, nurses and activists for at least four years.

How is that not feminist? How is that wrong, Mz. Wilson? Yeah, you can't answer that question because you're busy attacking Sarah for her God-given good looks. David Paterson: making absurd links between community organizing and blacks

I don't blame him...the man can't SEE. So it's no wonder that Governor David Paterson of New York would accuse SP and Republicans of being racist when making jest of Senator Obama's former occupation as a community organizer.

Said Sarah at the RNC in response to people questioning her executive experience:

"So I suppose a small town mayor is sort of like a community organizer, except with real responsibilities."

Said Paterson on her comment:

"I think the Republican Party is too smart to call Barack Obama 'black' in a sense that it would be a negative. But you can take something about his life, which I noticed they did at the Republican Convention – a 'community organizer.' They kept saying it, they kept laughing."

"I think where there are overtones is when there are uses of language that are designed to inhibit other people's progress with a subtle reference to their race."

Yeah...I totally see how her back-biting was construed as racist. Newsflash, other Governor: SP was being a bitch. Not a racist. Two completely different things. Yes, Republicans are making fun of the Senator's work as an organizer. I, too, don't trust a man who willingly chose to work in a community he's not even from instead of building da Benjamins on Wall Street like the rest of his Ivy-League classmates. I mean...would he do that as President? I think that is the question SP was bringing to the table.

While Obama was busy getting all the glory helping disenfranchised union workers (Todd is a Union Man, btw) get their jobs back, Sarah was busy bringing pride to her town and state by competing in the Miss Alaska pageant. You don't see her throwing that around in campaign commercials because she's humble.

I have a dirty little secret.

I really like . It's kind of embarrassing, because I was a strong supporter of and because I live in a liberal bubble in Brooklyn, N.Y. I'm not sure what's wrong with me, but the more my friends and media colleagues attack Palin for being a lightweight or a hick or a lunatic, the more I like her.

I liked her the first time I saw a picture of her, nearly a year ago in this magazine. It illustrated a story about how women leaders like Palin and Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano were gaining power at the state level. Palin, BlackBerry in one hand, Red Bull in the other, checked her messages as she crossed the street, seemingly oblivious to her youngest daughter, Piper, who trailed along behind her, jumping rope in the crosswalk. Now that's my kind of working mom, I thought.

I liked her even more after her speech at the Republican convention, and not just because she gave a masterful performance. I am riveted by her family and struck by what appears to be her complete confidence in the choices she's made. Women both liberal and conservative may be locked in combat about whether she went back to work too soon after Trig's birth or whether she should be making a run for national office when her teenage daughter is pregnant. But if Palin is agonizing about her decisions, it doesn't show.

Which does not mean that I would do what she did—or that I will vote for the McCain-Palin ticket, because like many former Hillary supporters, I would not step over Roe v. Wade to vote for anyone. I took a six-month maternity leave and I doubt I would run for national office if my daughter were pregnant. But as I watched Palin and her family on that stage, the way she embraced daughter Bristol and called Trig a perfectly beautiful boy, I liked what I saw. I found her lack of defensiveness admirable. And if I were nominated for the vice presidency, I would probably let my kids stay up way past their bedtimes, too.

I am aware that I am responding to carefully crafted political images. I actually know very little about Sarah Palin's ideology, and what I do know I don't like: the extreme anti- stand, her belief that creationism should be taught in schools alongside evolution. In the next eight weeks any number of things could emerge that will turn me off completely.

But I can't help myself. I'd rather crack open a Red Bull and sit down with her than with Barack Obama. Likability counts in electoral politics—especially for voters who are on the fence. It worked for George W. I love the fact that she rose from the PTA to the governor's office as a self-described challenger to the boys' club. When I Googled "Palin and bitch," I expected to find an outpouring of misogyny to back up the idea that much of the criticism of her is sexist. Instead, I found dozens of references to a video called "Is McCain Palin's Bitch?" Her convention speech was ruthless, and she managed to beat Obama up without sounding shrill.

Maybe I am a sucker for a frontier myth, the narrative of a person who rises up in a frozen, faraway place by making her own rules. I don't meet many moose hunters in New York. She reminds me of the scrappy, snowmobile-riding people I knew when I was growing up in Minnesota. Palin even sounds like them, with her healthy respect for vowels. I love that her sister runs a service station. When I hear people say that she's "too state fair," it activates a vestigial chip on my shoulder. In the Ivy-choked, East Coast media establishment, I also have an unusual résumé: University of Minnesota, the five-year plan.

Then there are those guns. She has been likened to Annie Oakley, but she seems like a thoroughly modern ass-kicker, more Angelina Jolie as "Mrs. Smith," or Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor—just with a little more meat on her bones. Even the investigation into her alleged abuse of power as governor seems to raise her street cred. I mean, didn't her ex-brother-in-law Taser his 10-year-old stepson? Somehow I'm willing to forgive Palin for allegedly trying to have him fired. I think she may represent a new American archetype: the political bad girl. History books are full of charming rogues like Bill Clinton, Edwin Edwards and Huey Long—men who were so charismatic that audiences seemed to forgive them their trespasses.

But if I'm really honest with myself, I'm mostly just happy that there's another woman on the national political stage. I think it's good for my 8-year-old daughter, who has called Hillary Clinton her idol. She doesn't love Hillary because of her health-care policy or pro-choice stance: she loves Hillary because she thinks girls rule. The more powerful women there are on the national stage, the better it is for all women, because this is a game of numbers. When John Edwards destroys his political career by cheating on his wife, I don't believe people wring their hands about what it's going to mean for white guys. And when there are enough women in our political life, maybe we will be able to judge them as individuals, rather than representatives of all things uterine. Either way, I think we're going to have to get used to Sarah Palin. Because she might be the one to crash through that "highest, hardest glass ceiling," and not just because she has a gun.

18 Million Cracks and a couple good quips

When she was born to the world several weeks ago, SP remarked that she was adding to the 18 million cracks in the proverbial glass ceiling that Hillary Clinton made during the Democratic primaries. Of course, many haters out there didn't appreciate SP co-opting Hill's words knowing that she is the political polar opposite of the Senator. It led many to think, "What the hell does the lady Clinton think about all this?" and it led some more people to speculate how long it would take Bill to hit on SP at a bipartisan function.

Hillary barely released a statement about SP, instead choosing to ignore that she even exists. I am taken aback at the lack of awe and deference she shows Sarah. I decided to track down Hillary and chat with her about the goings-on of this race. Over a piping hot green tea latte and lemon biscotti, I created a safe space for Hillary to share her true feelings.

Me: How are you doing, really?
H: I'm doing well. I'm tired - this campaign has taken a lot out of me, but I want to show Democrats that this election is ours to win and --
Me: You don't have to say that for me.
H: (sits back) I'm tired as hell. I'm disappointed and Bill is fucking annoying.
Me: I can see that. He's a tad full of himself.
H: Tell me about it. At first, you think it's charming, but after all these years it just grinds my gears.
Me: So. Sarah. Why are you ignoring her?
H: She's not worth it. This campaign isn't about her. It's about the issues.
Me: (laughing) Senator, really: why are you ignoring the awesomeness that is Sarah Palin? The Saracuda? The Hottest VP from the Coldest State? The new poster child for parents of Down Syndrome children?
H: (blinks) Governor Palin--
Me: It's pronounced "pay-lynn"
H: (sighs) Governor Palin should be commended for her accomplishments inside and outside the home. As a working mother and politician, I understand the enormous amount of pressure she must be experiencing.
Me: Isn't she great at balancing the kids, the state, the campaign, the husband and the vicious media and the lying liars that run it? And the sexism! I don't know if you can imagine what she's been through these past several weeks.
H: Are you serious? Are you fucking kidding me right now?
Me: Um...no?
H: She has the audacity to take my line, my great line about cracks in the glass ceiling and use it to cosign MY supporters...the women who worked hard for me and my campaign. That was a low blow for me and feminism.
Me: I smell hater...
H: 18 million cracks! What a hoot. The only crack she knows about is the one that splits her ass and the rest that she's snorting that's making her think she has a chance in hell of being Vice President of the United States.
Me: You take that back.
H: I will not.
Me: Do you want the rest of your scone?
H: No, but you can't have it.
Me: See, Sarah wouldn't do something like that. Are you mad because while you were wasting time in law school, she was dating her high school sweetheart and winning beauty pageants?
H: I was arguing cases while she was trying to pass home ec. I refuse to engage in an argument about her merits versus mine; there is just no comparison. Yes, she is pretty. Yes, she is in great shape. Do I find her interest in hunting and sports slightly erotic? Yes. But none of this matters because John McCain is the person people should be concerned about. She is merely a distraction.
Me: She is pretty distracting. I would say disarming, even. Did Chelsea ever play hockey?
H: Our children are not part of this discussion.
Me: OK. Has she ever been pregnant?
H: Knock it off.
Me: Cindy McCa--
H: Hate her. Who just randomly adopts a kid from an orphanage in a foreign country and doesn't tell her husband? What's with the blinged out USMC and NAVY pins that she wears? Next question.
Me: That's call Pride, something you obviously don't have in your country. Todd never cheated on Sarah. Why do you think that is?
H: He's gay. Hot, but gay.
Me: Do you not want Bill to ever be in the same room as Sarah?
H: I could care less these days.
Me: Yeah....how come she's a better mother than you?
H: That is not true, therefore your question isn't valid.
Me: Please don't use lawyer speak with me. I'm a Real American Woman and I want Straight Talk. This is why we can't beat the Republicans, Hillary. Not enough Straight Talk and too much Liberal Jibber Jabber.
H: That's not why. Senator Obama was right: America is full of a bunch overall-wearing idiots who cling to their guns and religion because they are too stupid or too lazy to actually think for themselves and look beyond the tip of their nose and see the world around them. Republicans win every time because they've managed to frame every issue in a way that makes sense to these types of people. Abortion? For whores. Guns? God wants you to have at least one. Taxes? Bad. Even though they pay for everything from roads and schools to your son's helmet when he went overseas to fight a stupid war that I was stupid enough to authorize....it's just all fucked up.
Me: In a fight between Sarah and Ann Coulter, who would win?
H: Sarah. Ann's a whore tool of the neoconservative media. Sean Hannity jacks off to fantasies about her and Michelle Malkin making out on the set of Hardball. Sarah would rip every single dyed blonde hair out of her head. I would take that bitch out to lunch after she did it, too.
Me: I agree. Sarah would pretty much annihilate her to the point that she would need reconstructive surgery.
H: Look, I would love to chat with you more, but...
Me: ANYtiiiime. Thank you for being honest. This is going to stay just between us. Can I have a hug?

People seem to have created a new hobby in questioning Sarah's ability to lead. Granted, I don't want her leading anything I'm a part of, but allow me to outline some parallels between beauty pageant winner and Vice President of the United States.

1. You have to dress up. A lot.

2. There is a lot of formal ceremonies and people in sashes to talk to.

3. There will be jealous bitches out to contaminate your make-up.

4. You get to make speeches.

5. Ribbon cuttings and presiding over the Senate are pretty much synonomous.

6. You have to have a platform.

7. You travel with handlers.

8. You have to be "on" all the time.

9. Lots of waving and handshaking and picture taking.

10. Miss Congeniality is a lot like the First Lady (insanely jealous of you, except when SP was Miss Congeniality in the Miss Alaska 1984 competition. In that case, they were really jealous of her and her faith).

11. You have to answer tough questions on the spot and think on your feet.

12. A winner-up is a heartbeat away from the Title.

I don't even want to re-post the filth that Ms. Kilkenny spread about my SP. I do, however, want to take a moment to clarify [bold brackets] some of the crap that has spewed from her undoubtedly un-rouged lips.

CLAIM VS FACT [everything awesome about Sarah vs. reality]

o "Hockey mom": true for a few years [sorry her kids moved on to other things.]
o "PTA mom": true years ago when her first-born was in elementary school, not since [Sarah knows there are better ways to bring about CHANGE than to sit around baking cupcakes and planning school plays all day]
p "NRA supporter": absolutely true [and your problem with this is....?]
o social conservative: mixed. Opposes gay marriage, BUT vetoed a bill that would have denied benefits to employees in same-sex relationships (said she did this because it was unconsitutional). [not only does SP love God, she loves our CONSTITUTION]
o pro-creationism: mixed. Supports it, BUT did nothing as Governor to promote it. [because she doesn't have time to birth children, rear them, beat Todd, kill elk and manage a state AND preach the awesomeness that is Adam and Eve. Gee, Sorry, Anne. What exactly have YOU done lately? Hmm?]
o "Pro-life": mixed. Knowingly gave birth to a Down's syndrome baby BUT declined to call a special legislative session on some pro-life legislation. [probably because she was busy being a real American Woman]
o "Experienced": Some high schools have more students than Wasilla has residents. Many cities have more residents than the state of Alaska. No legislative experience other than City Council. Little hands-on supervisory or managerial experience; needed help of a city administrator to run town of about 5,000. [Being a mom is all the managerial experience that she needs.]
o political maverick: not at all [are you, Anne?]
o gutsy: absolutely! [DAMN RIGHT.]
o open & transparent: ??? Good at keeping secrets. Not good at explaining actions. [SP doesn't have to explain anything if she believes in it hard enough. That is a basic tenant of Christian, Republican values.]
o has a developed philosophy of public policy: no [I think marry it, birth it or shoot it are developed philosophies to me.]
o "a Greenie": no. Turned Wasilla into a wasteland of big box stores and disconnected parking lots. Is pro-drilling off-shore and in ANWR. [I mean, I haven't seen global warming, so exactly, do we know it exists? I think SP is right to question its existence. After all, we have been warned about this so-called "climate emergency" by a man who claimed to have invented the internet. C'mon.]
o fiscal conservative: not by my definition! [I want to see some Quicken documents that back up your assertion.]
o pro-infrastructure: No. Promoted a sports complex and park in a city without a sewage treatment plant or storm drainage system. Built streets to early 20th century standards. [since when was liking buildings and bridges a pre-req for the Veep position? I doubt Cheney likes bridges and what not, but he has done fine in the position.]
o pro-tax relief: Lowered taxes for businesses, increased tax burden on residents. [Um, duh. Tax relief for big biz. Who did you think she was talking about?]
o pro-small government: No. Oversaw greatest expansion of city government in Wasilla's history. [Um, Anne. Knock, knock: you just stated several lines above that some high schools have more students that Wasilla has residents so how is this a problem?]
o pro-labor/pro-union. No. Just because her husband works union doesn't make her pro-labor. I have seen nothing to support any claim that she is pro-labor/pro-union. [she's pro-Todd and that is enough for me. And quite frankly, if the Legion of God's Righteous Army isn't a union, then I don't know what is.]

WHY AM I WRITING THIS? First, I have long believed in the importance of being an informed voter. I am a voter registrar. [not beauty queen, not mom, not christian. not REAL AMERICAN WOMAN] For 10 years I put on student voting programs in the schools. If you google my name (Anne Kilkenny + Alaska), you will find references to my participation in local government, education, and PTA/parent organizations. [way to waste taxpayer time Googling yourself, Anne. SP would never do that.] Secondly, I've always operated in the belief that "Bad things happen when good people stay silent". Few people know as much as I do because few have gone to as many City Council meetings. Third, I am just a housewife. [JUST A HOUSEWIFE? I THOUGH YOU WERE A VOTER REGISTRAR, ANNE? HOUSEWIVES DRIVE THE CHRISTIAN HOUSEHOLD. under their husband's leadership, of course.] I don't have a job she can bump me out of. I don't belong to any organization that she can hurt. But, I am no fool; she is immensely popular here, and it is likely that this will cost me somehow in the future: that’s life. Fourth, she has hated me since back in 1996, when I was one of the 100 or so people who rallied to support the City Librarian against Sarah's attempt at censorship. [see: more proof that you're just a hater] Fifth, I looked around and realized that everybody else was afraid to say anything because they were somehow vulnerable. [that's not fear. that is pure, unadulterated awe for the omnipresent miracle that is SP.]

Keep the librarian up-do. Give us more ponytails!

Lipstick. If you ask my mother, it's the cornerstone of a real American woman. Aside from clean underwear, every woman of age should have lipstick with her when she leaves the house. The full on tubed, matte finish kind in an unmistakeable shade of red that conveys maturity, sexiness and feminity, but not too whore-ish. Not gloss. Not balm. Good old-fashioned, tested on animals, made from blubber lipstick.

SP knows this. Before every hockey game, she shalacks it on as part of her war paint in the battle to win America from vegetarian, tree-hugging, birth control consuming liberals. Rack Rack is in "trouble" with the McCain-Palin camp because he essentially called her a pig.

She called herself a pitbull first.

SP ain't no pig, Senator. She's a pitbull. A pitbull would kill a pig by ripping out its jugular. Pits are vicious bitches and my SP is one vicious bitch and she has kids by the litter. So I join the McCain campaign in phony resentment and calling out the incredulous statements you made because calling a pitbill a pig not only sets back the feminist movement (we've fought hard to be bitches instead of pigs), it shows that you have no respect for the full on attack that is SP. So mock away, but your time will come when she's let off her chain and she's coming for you. I'm sure you can remember a mean dog or two from back in the day when you canvassed as an ORGANIZER. *shudder* *rolling eyes*
